Read the statement of rights (PDF)Even without an agreement between the spouses, either may apply for divorce.
A divorce raises practical questions about the children’s living arrangements, housing, property and finances.
When the spouses agree on all the consequences of divorce, a divorce by mutual consent may be considered. Your lawyer assists you in drafting the prior agreements, which are then submitted to the family court.
If such an agreement is not possible, either spouse may apply for divorce, even if the other objects.
In both cases, we support you through the process.
Family reunification, a single permit or regularisation: the process depends on your circumstances.
Depending on your circumstances, an application for residence may be considered, including through family reunification or a single permit allowing a person to work and reside in Belgium.
In some cases, an application for regularisation may be considered on the basis of exceptional circumstances (Article 9bis) or medical grounds (Article 9ter). Each procedure has its own conditions and requires specific supporting documents. We assist you in assessing your situation and preparing your application.
